The Best Keto Pasta Recipe (Low Carb)

The Best Keto Pasta Recipe

In our previous post, we revealed whether pasta is keto-friendly or not. Unfortunately, pasta is generally not keto-approved. It's easy to overdo pasta, and if you do, it's highly likely you'll kick yourself out of ketosis.

But just because pasta is high in carbs doesn't mean you will have to skip pasta for the rest of your keto journey!

We're feeling generous today to share our keto pasta recipe! This recipe is low in carb, so throw your worries to the side and prepare to get hungry.

Low Carb Carbonara

What you need:

  • 1 tbsp heavy whipping cream

  • 2/3 pasta, keto-friendly

  • 1 egg, large

  • 2 egg yolks, large

  • 1/3 Parmesan, grated

  • 3 tbsp fresh basil, chopped

  • 5 oz bacon

  • Pepper to taste

What to do:

  1. Follow the instructions indicated in your keto-friendly pasta.

  2. Freeze your bacon. It's easier to cut bacon if they are frozen. Slice the bacon into small cubes. Cook them until crisp over high heat.

  3. Once cooked, set them aside. Save 1/3 bacon grease. We will need that later.

  4. In a bowl, mix one egg and two egg yolks.

  5. Grate Parmesan cheese and measure out 1/3 cup.

  6. In your bowl of egg mixture, add cream, grated parmesan, and bacon grease. Mix together until you form a thick sauce.

  7. Cook your pasta using the bacon grease left in the pan.

  8. Pour the pasta into a mixing bowl.

  9. Add the crisped bacon. Toss and mix.

  10. Pour in your carbonara sauce. Mix well until the pasta is covered with sauce.

  11. Serve on a plate. Top it up with freshly chopped basil and pepper.

  12. Garnish your plate with more cheese.

Final Thoughts

There's no need to deprive yourself of the snacks you love. Pasta is high in carbs and can mess up your keto journey, but that doesn't mean you cannot enjoy them.

You can opt for the alternatives, give yourself a plate of warm pasta, and feast without the guilt and worry that you might ruin your entire slimming course.
