Does it Really Work as Advertised?
So, what is this product that you might have heard on the radio or TV a few times? For a while now, it has been publicly known that Kegenix is one of the ketogenic supplements that public figure; Joe Rogan uses. But before we get side-tracked, let's discuss everything that you need to know about it on this research.
Kegenix is a dietary supplement that is intended for use as part of a ketogenic and weight loss program. The supplement was developed by a University of South Florida physician named Dr. Dominic D’Agostino as a means to help users achieve ketosis at a much faster rate as compared to traditional dieting.
Dr. D’Agostino had already made some breakthroughs in the area of ketone study. However, he encountered numerous challenges in formulating a product that would be beneficial for encouraging ketosis and making it available to the market. After a lengthy R&D period however he finally felt had the results he was after and Kegenix was introduced into the market in 2016.
Kegenix comes in powder form, which is meant to be mixed with 8 to 12 ounces of water. The resulting mixture should be consumed daily, ideally at mid-morning.
What are the Benefits of Kegenix?
The supplement offers some supposed health benefits, some of which may be helpful to those who wish to lose weight and achieve a state of ketosis. This is an advanced metabolic state wherein the body utilizes fat as a primary source of energy, as opposed to using sugar. Because fat is a more efficient energy source than carbohydrates, users may experience increased energy levels when the body is in a state of ketosis.
Getting your body into the keto diet isn't exactly the easiest of tasks, and it can be very challenging to maintain the state as well. Because most people’s diets are heavy on carbs, the body is accustomed to utilizing these as energy sources. This is why individuals who cut their carbohydrate consumption drastically may feel tired, sluggish, and out of sorts, with some even experiencing symptoms similar to that of the flu. This condition is commonly known as “keto flu.”
Kegenix aims to help users avoid these symptoms by providing substantially more potential energy than you would get from carbohydrate burning. The supplement also helps stimulate metabolism and control the craving for food to burn fat and preserve lean muscle tissue.
The manufacturer claims that Kegenix can place the body into ketosis in as little as an hour. It is also supposed to encourage faster recovery after workouts, improve brain function, enhance mental clarity, and reduce inflammation.
What are the Ingredients?
I'm sure that most of you hard-core dieters are interested in what goes into this fat burning product. Kegenix contains some components that are essential to those trying to get their bodies into ketosis. It is said that most of the ingredients here are natural and chemically-safe. And now, let's get into all the ingredients that exist in this popular keto supplement:
- Medium chain triglycerides. Stabilizes blood sugar and enhances ketone production.
- Beta-hydroxybutyric acid. Helps produce energy in people with low glucose levels.
- L-leucine. Helps maintain anabolism in a calorie deficit state without stimulating glucose production.
- L-lysine. Speeds up fat loss by conversion into L-Carnitine.
- L-isoleucine. Aids in hemoglobin formation. Also, regulates sugar levels and increases energy.
- Green Tea (leaf extract 10:1). Speeds up metabolism.
- Erythritol. A low-calorie sweetener that does not affect the level of blood sugar in the body.
- Rebaudioside A. A non-nutritive sweetener made from stevia extract.
Kegenix also contains other ingredients that are said to contribute to its efficacy. These are the ingredients that set the product apart in some people’s eyes from other brands that are currently in the market.
These components are the following:
- Protein blend
- Malic Acid
- Citric Acid
- Silicon Dioxide
- Natural Flavoring
- Natural Coloring
- Disodium Phosphate
How Does Kegenix Taste Like?
Kegenix comes in three flavors: Orange Blast, Fruit Medley, and Wild Berry. Unfortunately, none of these are palatable in any way, and they only have a passing resemblance to the fruits that initially “inspired” them.
Upon first taste, you can't help but notice how sour the formulation is. And like many other similar products in this niche market, Kegenix has an unpleasant aftertaste that lingers on the taste buds long after you swallow the liquid.
Checking out user feedback on the internet, I did find one or two people who thought that it tasted good. Without casting aspersions on their liking, I would only mention that such favorable reviews appear to be in the minority. It's not the best-tasting supplement out there right now.
What are the Possible Side-Effects?
Even more alarming than the taste is the potential for side effects that it may cause. The first indication that something was wrong occurred the day I first took the supplement. After drinking the 8-ounce mixture in the morning as directed, I noticed a general feeling of uneasiness that soon gave way to a nervous and jittery feeling, as if I had drunk too much coffee.
The excitement continued well into the afternoon, and I had trouble going to sleep that night. This experience made me look for other effective BHB alternatives that are within my price range (which you can find here at www.ketogenicsupplementreviews.com), I just didn't want to go through that every single day.
Other users reported even more severe reactions. One user experienced more of the same symptoms that I experienced, along with an elevated pulse rate, dizziness, and disorientation. One user who experienced only mild adverse effects on the first day reported a frequent need to urinate on the second day, along with severe legal cramps.
These symptoms were alarming, to say the least, especially if you are expected to drink the supplement every day. Even if you were to get accustomed to the effects over time, I'm not sure I would be able to get through even the first week’s regimen after what I've felt while on the supplement. This is somewhat similar to what we experienced when we tried Kegenix Prime which is an MCT powder from the same company.
Where Can I Buy Kegenix?
Kegenix is available from a few other online retail sites. However, I can't recommend using it as I did not have the best experience when I was on it. It is entirely up to if you want to buy. Other reasons turn me off of the product as well.
For one thing, the cost is pretty steep. With a high price for a box that will only last you for 30 days, there are indeed a lot more affordable options out there. Also, I found the taste and side-effects to be a deal-breaker, especially for a product that you are expected to take every day of the week. But we did find one of the better deals which you can see by clicking the button on the right.
Don’t get me wrong, Kegenix isn't all bad. Some of the ingredients did appeal to me and encouraged me to take a look at what the product had to offer. In the end, however, the cost, the unpleasant taste, and the alarming side-effects turned me off enough to want to try other products. Right now, we still think that Perfect Keto is still the best supplement out there.
A great-tasting BHB product with all the benefits of a proper ketogenic supplement, there's no question why it's on top. Long-time users of these products will know that the word "exogenous ketones supplements" and "great-tasting" never go hand-in-hand, until now.
