Is This Latest Addition To Keto Supplements Worth Your Money?
Some people think that taking any kind of supplements to help with your keto diet is in some way cheating.
Personally, I call it a load of BS.
I think that if there are ways to make your journey to a new healthy lifestyle that bit easier, then you should jump on the opportunity.
The problem is that because this diet has become so popular, there are now dozens of products that promise everything from instant ketosis to huge energy boosts.
Key Keto is one such product.
Our suspicions were high immediately when we saw all the fancy packaging and marketing efforts, and it turns out there are some problems with this product.
Let’s see first what it claims to do.
What Is Key Keto?
The first thing that stands out with Key Keto is that it’s packaged very differently than other supplements we’ve reviewed.
It comes in small pouches which you can easily bring with you in a pocket or bag.
Each pouch is one serving, which makes it very convenient for busy people.
It’s a good idea that will suit quite a few dieters.
The makers claim that it will help you burn fat for more rapid weight loss and increase your physical and mental energy.
It’s also marketed as a pre-workout shake that will help you “power through the toughest workout.”
All this is achieved by increasing your blood ketone levels, but how is this meant to happen?
What Are The Ingredients In Key Keto?
The main active ingredients are exogenous ketones in the form of beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) salts.
BHB salts are easily absorbed by your digestive system and are very similar to the ketones that your body produces itself.
Most importantly it contains less than 1g of carbs, which means that this is a keto-friendly product that won’t mess with your ketosis if you’re already in the state.
In addition, there are some ingredients that help to make it a mixable drink:
These don’t actually boost your energy and performance, but really only function to create the powder that makes it easier to create a shake.
On the face of it, these all look fine, and if you’ve done any research, you’ll find that the majority of these products all have very similar or the same ingredients.
However, what we do have to point out is that Key Keto is another one of those options where the exact composition of the BHB salts is kept a secret.
It’s annoying and for us always a negative, as it makes it more difficult to combine with other supplements.
How To Use Key Keto
Simply empty the pouch into a shaker and add 8 to 10 ounces of water.
Give it a good shake, and you’re ready to go.
When you should take it is the bigger question though.
If you’re in the early days of keto induction, then it’s best to take it first thing in the morning after you get up.
But if you’re looking for a performance boost, then take it immediately before a trip to the gym.
How Does Key Keto Taste?
Currently, it’s available in lemon-lime sherbet flavor which is actually quite refreshing.
It’s a bit on the bitter side for me, but I generally tend to buy these supplements in unflavored form to add to my smoothies.
Now for the biggest question.
Does Key Keto Actually Work?
When it comes to ketogenic diet supplements, we always test for two main things.
First, does it help with getting you through induction faster and with fewer symptoms?
And then we see if it boosts ketone levels enough to give an energy boost once you’re in full ketosis.
So, my buddy Jake did the first test when he was heading for another go at keto.
He has experience with the keto-flu from previous attempts, and he did say that the symptoms were a little bit better.
It still took him about 6 days to get through induction, so no real health benefits there.
I then replaced my usual Purefit supplement for a week and checked out my running and gym performance.
I still noticed a bit of an energy kick, but looking at exercise notes, I don’t think I was able to get as much out of my body as I usually do.
So, the verdict is that it works reasonably well.
But for the price, you’ll get a lot more Purefit, which works better.
Are There Side Effects To Using Key Keto?
Generally speaking all the ingredients are safe and healthy, but as with everything you have to be careful not to take in too much.
Some people have reported being sensitive to these products and ended up with stomach upset and nausea.
If this happens, make sure you reduce your intake for a few days.

I haven’t seen these in health food stores, and you want to avoid dodgy online stores when it comes to something you’re going to eat.

Bottom Line: Should You Buy Key Keto?
Of all the exogenous ketone reviews we’ve done in the last year, this is one of the better-performing ones.
We like the convenient pouches, and the flavor is OK too.
It contains healthy nutrients that won’t mess with your ketosis, but when it comes to value for money and actual results, it’s still falling a little short of the mark.
I still totally recommend Purefit both for induction and as an exercise performance enhancer.
